Group Format & Expectations
-
Weekly 2.5-hour live virtual DBT Skills Training Group
-
Program length: 24 consecutive weeks
-
Small group format (maximum of 6 participants)
-
Two group options: a general DBT Skills Group, and a BPD-Focused group (which requires a documented diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder)
-
This is a DBT Skills Training Group, not individual therapy or comprehensive DBT
-
Participants must be concurrently enrolled in individual therapy throughout the program
-
If you are not currently in therapy, individual therapy is available on an as-needed basis through A Life In Balance, or we can discuss referrals.
Attendance & Participation
-
Consistent attendance is expected for all 24 weeks; skills build week to week
-
Participants are expected to arrive on time, remain engaged, and participate respectfully
-
Active, camera-on participation is required to support learning and group cohesion
-
Sessions are recorded for make-up viewing; recordings are not a substitute for live participation
This program is designed to support emotional mastery through structured, evidence-based skills training. It emphasizes skill acquisition and real-time practice, not crisis management or in-depth trauma processing. Deeper personal work belongs in your individual therapy.
